What is Worship?
Worship
means offering or shipping worth and value to God through your lifestyle.
It involves your entire being: spirit, soul and body and it is more than
a once-a-week Sunday activity.
How
to Worship
Worship involves freely giving God our all. Paul begs/appeals to us to offer our bodies
as living sacrifices which is our reasonable act of worship (Romans 12:1-3) meaning that we not only worship God when we sing cute but also when we present our entire being to God in reverence and appreciation to Him.
Jesus says true worshippers
will worship in spirit and truth. We are not just to worship God with our heads but with our whole heart, entire body and soul. It is all encompassing, sometimes we may sing songs and dance as signs of worship but if we don't do it in sincerity and by His Spirit then it becomes routine. God wants to connect to humanity so when we come to God in worship we should
believe that God exists in our lives and that as we seek Him diligently He will reward us.Worship
is a witness, it shows those around us that God really exist, it proves His value and worth, so when we worship we must worship in a way that lets people
around us know that God is real.
What's
the right approach to worshipping at church?
•
Do some warm up “exercises” like listening to some good worship
music on your way to church. It helps focus our minds on Him. Your preparation
makes a huge difference. You don’t have to rely on the musicians
and worship leaders alone to stir motivate you.
•
Keep the sense of awe of God's person and greartness fresh in your mind.
Worship is a natural offshoot of seeing God as He is. You can do this
by meditating on what the Bible says about Him or simply by looking at
nature with a fresh eye
•
Come before Him with thanksgiving .We must begin with an attitude of thanksgiving.
Reduce your CPH (Complains Per Hour ) and increase your TPH (Thanks Per Hour).
•
Extol him with songs and music. Sing with joy and enthusiasm. Sing to
God. Keep all your focus on him.
•
Listen to him speak in your heart. He always responds when he is worshipped.
